Fire Blight

Fire Blight is a new bacteria killing off trees that have berries and fruit.  It causes the leaves to wilt and almost look like they were in a fire.  The most common trees affected in our area are Service Berry, Hawthorn, Pear, Apple and Crab Apple, Rose and Spirea.  All branches should be pruned off 1 foot below the infected area as soon as possible.  The branches should be disposed of by a professional and the shears should be cleaned with bleach.
